Geri Halliwell
L’ex Ginger Spice du groupe anglais Spice Girls, Geri Halliwell, naît le 8 juin 1972 à Londres. Elle répond en 1994 à une annonce et rejoint Victoria Adams, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chislom et Emma Burton pour former les Spice Girls. Avec ce groupe, elle enregistre entre autre les tubes Wannabe, Say you’ll be there et 2 become 1. Après la sortie du film Spiceworld (1997), Geri Halliwell annonce, en 1998, son départ du groupe. En solo, elle est loin de l’extravagante Ginger Spice et se montre sous un nouveau jour plus sobre. Elle revient en 1999 avec le single Look at me, qui arrive directement en deuxième position dans les charts pop anglais, et l’album Schizophrenic, suivi de Scream If You Wanna Go Faster qui sort courant 2001.

Cyndi Lauper
Cyndi Lauper est né en 1953 à New York. Elle abandonne rapidement l’école pour se tourner vers sa passion; elle chante dans des groupes avec lesquels elle fait surtout de reprises. Elle prend des cours de chant, puis commence à écrire avec le pianiste John Turi. Ils formeront la même année le duo Blue Angel. Ils sortent un album en 1980 qui s’avère être un fiasco, c’est alors que Cyndi entame sa carrière solo. En 1983, son producteur et petit ami David Wolff lui obtient un contrat avec Portrait, et à la fin de l’année elle réalise She’s so Unusual soutenu par les chaînes musicales qui diffusent son clip Girls Just Want to Have Fun qui devient en quelques mois un tube planétaire. S’en suivent ses tubes Time After Time, She Bop, All Through the Night qui entrent tous dans le top ten. Son deuxième album, True Colors sort en 1986 qui connait le même succès en entrant directement dans les charts… Cependant son troisième album ,A Night to Remember se vend très mal et la même année elle se sépare de son producteur pour épouser l’acteur David Thornton. Après plusieurs années loin de la scène, elle revient en 1993, avec un album qu’elle coproduit mais elle ne parviendra plus à se hisser en haut des charts. En 2001, paraît un best of Time After Time. 2 ans plus tard, Cyndi Lauper sort l’album At Last.
