Civilization CHR v1.0RC3 is available for download!

Sorry for not writing in french, but I’m italian and I know only english :(

After 7 months of revisions v1.0RC3 of Civilization CHR (based on “Sid Meier’s Civilization” from Eagle Games 2002) it is publicly available.
To play with it you need a copy of the original boardgame and download from this site
http://www.mindcreations.com/projects/c … ouserules/
the manual and the additional components.

About 60% of the original rules have been modified and integrated with new rules that are closer to the original PC game, Civilization III.
The result of this work is a NEW game that needs all the contents of the original boardgame box.

At the moment the manual is in “public review & playtesting form” to get an immediate feedback from the gamers community, thus, it is considered complete but not publicily tested.

During Christmas 2006 the previous v1.0RC1 has been presented to the public on BGG forums and event to the public of Rome http://www.mindcreations.com/projects/c … /index.php
(pictures and flyer of the game in PDF). During 2007 has been released the version 1.0RC2 and today, 11 january 2008, it has been released the version 1.0RC3, probably the last one before the final release.

Who was eagerly waiting for a new game based on Civilization or was thinking that the original rules were in some way incomplete or buggy, now he can bring new life to his old box! :)

Compared to the 1.0RC2, there have been a lot of updates in reply to numerous suggestions and bug reports:

- ABAkUS updated to v3.4
- CHR rules, cards and sheets are no more natively compatible with a
two players game. The minimum number of players is three
- Increased realism
- Cards and rules issues reported have been fixed
- Game balancing fixes
- Barbarians now act by using an artificial intelligence system
- 24 pieces have been added to distinguish catapults from trebuchets
- Simplified reading of the rules by means of graphical aids
- FULL english translation of rules and cards
- The original rules by Glenn Drover have been totally merged with CHR so you don’t have to look at two manuals when playing. The CHR rules structure has been completely changed for this purpose
