Hello,

Many of the games have been posted, but not enough. Unfortunately owing to the numerous problems that were encountered in the manufacturing process (including having to redo the rulebook) and the shipping, the budget was blown. The Kickstarter funds have been exhausted (they were actually exhausted after the first 15 copies were shipped, but there ya go) and the remaining funds held of circa £700.00 come from personal funds and that of one other.
With these funds I will post further copies of the game to backers, but this leads to the unfortunate positon whereby some backers will not receive the game, meaning the campaign overall is a partial failure. This is a result that many will be disappointed in, as am I. The funds held will allow me to post a final 40-70 copies of the game, which will leave around 90 backers missing out.
What will determine who gets their copy and who does not, you may be asking. Well, in order to answer that I will first explain the lack of communication recently. The simple answer is, abusive messages and stress.
This project has taken hundreds upon hundreds of hours since it’s the fundraising aspect ended, and despite the many problems and hurdles, I continued to work to bring the game to the backers. This despite the fact that there was no profit to be made from the product any longer and that it would have been easy at any point to walk away. This being a project done in spare time for the joy of creating a game, the joy was long ago sapped away by the numerous problems and a few whining and abusive backers. So, the simple way to keep oneself sane, stop looking at the messages, and take some time out, which is what I have done.
Who will Receive Mazemaster?
So what shall determine who will get the game. Those who have posted messages of abuse, generally unpleasantness will be at the bottom of the list. Those who have continued to show support throughout the struggle will be much closer to the top (and there are many to whom I am grateful in this respect as it is those backers that kept me wanted to see it through rather than stopping a long time ago). Two shops/online sellers agreed to back the game, and they will take precedence above all as theirs is a commercial interest rather than a personal one. For those in the middle I will randomise it, but place slightly higher emphasis on:-
•Those that backer higher amounts, as they stand to lose more.
•UK backers as this will allow more people to be satisfied as the cost of postage is 40% that of, say, a US backer, and 20% of a backer in Brazil.
•To allow me to get more sent out, some people that ordered two or three copies will receive one. This cuts the cost of the postage down to give more backers partial satisfaction, then completely disappoint.
To those who do not receive the copy of the game (and any associated rewards) over the next few weeks, I am sorry that you will not receive the finished product. I need to remind you that on Kickstarter you are not buying a product, you are backing a product that has a chance of success, but also a chance of failure. It is good that it is not a case whereby hundreds of £/$ is lost by each backer, but any money lost is regrettable. Where a campaign fails it is not theft, it is not fraud, it is not the campaigner sitting in a high backed chair stroking a cat going ‘mwahahahaha’. It is simply a shame, and unfortunate that in this instance your pledge has not been satisfied.
